This event is being arranged by Beamish Museums and other local volunteers to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Suffragette Emily Davison.
Emily Davison was from Northumberland and since died from injuries she sustained when she collided with the King’s horse at the Epsom Derby, in 1913.
Beamish Museum are organizing a parade down Northumberland Street, a speech at Grey’s Monument and a tea party in the Grainger Market.
The activities start at 12pm around the Haymarket, reaching the Grainger Market at 2pm. The tea party is being held in Oliver’s Café in the Grainger Market Arcade.
